Senior Exhibit Designer

We are looking for a designer who will provide strong and inspiring creative vision and who is capable of playing a leading role in the design of world-class projects. Experience in all phases of the design process and a penchant for working within collaborative team settings are essentials.

 

If you possess a boundless passion for exploration and an inexhaustible supply of creative juice and you can sketch like Leonardo, then we want to hear from you!

 

Major Responsibilities

·Report to Design Director

·Develop designs, including 3-D exhibit elements, interiors, artifact displays, and interactive experiences, from conceptual drawings through final design

·Develop drawing packages, including CDs

·Maintain work flow in accordance with project schedule, with a variety of tasks and deadlines

·Manage junior designers, delegate tasks to junior team members, and guide the design process to achieve project goals

·Work in a team environment including Thinc staff, sub-contractors, and client contacts

·Participate in conceptual development and illustrate design concepts through a variety of mediums, including hand sketches and computer renderings

·Travel to meetings and site visits may be required

 

Qualifications

·A minimum of 8+ years of experience in exhibit design or related field

·Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

·Attention to detail, accuracy, and quality

·Proven experience in multiple phases of the design process, including conceptualization, design development, and CDs. (CA experience is a plus.)

·Good knowledge of fabrication techniques and materials standards of exhibit design

·Excellent communication skills - verbal, written, and illustrative

·Strong technical drawing skills (AutoCAD; VectorWorks a plus)

·3-D modeling/rendering skills (3ds Max preferred)

·High level of fluency with Adobe CS Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign),

Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or Keynote

·B.A. or M.A. in Exhibit Design, Architecture, or Industrial Design

Intermediate Exhibit Designer

We are looking for a designer who is capable and ready to play a major role in shaping the designs of world-class projects, provide strong and reliable support for our team, and take a leading role on smaller projects. Experience in all phases of the design process is a big plus. And a penchant for working within collaborative team settings is a must.
