Believe in the Value of Your Actions: Now is Not the Time to Stop Doing Stuff
In the work we've been doing at Thinc for Expo2020, we've realized the importance of connecting our everyday seemingly small actions to the big moves of de-carbonization.
Reject disposable plastics: disposed plastics not only pollute the ocean and add to methane and carbon dioxide-emitting landfill, they are made from fossil fuels natural gas and oil. Buy less, reuse more, buy sustainable: the less we buy of just about anything helps slow down unsustainable manufacturing processes that use fossil fuels. Buying something made from aluminum, organic cotton or recycled materials is better. Even better is shopping around at local resellers, yard sales, buying used online and generally recycling goods through your community. Swap some meat for beans, or other protein sources: if we can help slow down the beef industry, in particular, we can reduce methane and carbon dioxide emissions.
