American Food 2.0 USA Pavilion
For the first time in the history of world's fairs, the theme of Expo Milano was food. "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life" explored the challenge of feeding the estimated 9 billion people who will inhabit our planet by the year 2050.
Together with public programming and online presence, the USA pavilion exhibits highlighted America's food systems and innovations, locating America as a force in the food world. Through installations that combined living food plants, tactile displays, and digital storytelling, the pavilion engaged a global conversation addressing topics such as food security and policy, international relations, science and technology, nutrition and health, and the evolution of culinary culture. More than 6 million people toured the pavilion making it the most visited pavilion at Expo Milano.
