Tomorrow is Earth Day. There are some in the world of climate science calling it a tipping point. To what? That's up to us: we either push the planet beyond its limits to sustain human life, or commit to nurturing it for the future. Immersed in the Expo2020 project, I am at times overwhelmed by fear and other times filled with hope about what we can do to preserve our planet. Ultimately, I believe being hopeful is worth the energy and empowering the next generation is critical. The Expo project-and its legacy as a permanent center-represents an aspiration to raise awareness and inspire action.

I have come to realize how much our individual and everyday actions can be impactful: they are not just drops in a bucket. What we choose to do can influence and educate others, or at least generate a conversation, or even just a thought, or the beginning of a thought. It’s something. So, at the risk of being severely told off for telling you to eat your spinach, here are a few suggestions for Earth Day and beyond...
